Welcome to my blog. I learn so much from others who share with me their thinking, opinions, experiences, photos, music, pains, happiness, and so much more. In turn, I like sharing too and especially enjoy engaging and thoughtful dialogue. So don't be afraid to tell me what you think. If you want to know more about me and my work, I hope you will read a few of my posts and visit corestrategies.ca.

As of this moment, the Harper machinery is looking good to pick-up another 10 or so seats in Quebec. As I've been saying for a while now, with Quebec under control or at least pacified for the time being, the campaign focus will shift to 416.

I don’t expect a Quebec minority government will last very long. The ADQ should only get stronger as it forces itself to mature, in a hurry.

Quebec city will be calling (read as begging) upon Mr. Duceppe. Suddenly, the BQ leader may feel compelled to join defeating the Harper government so he can run federally one last time before his near-certain PQ destiny.

For the Conservatives it’s less meaningful the LPQ and ADQ came first and/or second. What is hugely significant is the PQ came third.

Not so much this week, but next weeks Federal polling numbers will be key. Mr. Harper will certainly make more gains in Quebec. Given especially how [badly] the Liberals handled the budget by focusing on the Quebec implications instead of overall spending...etc., mark my words, if Mr. Harper gains anything more in Ontario, then yes Madame Jean, that was your doorbell you just heard.

March 27, 2007

One of these days, I'm just going to post the picture and let it do the talking. In the meantime...

...it’s still early, but the Quebec election result in my view gives Mr. Harper more reason, way more reason, to "go" sooner rather than later. The ADQ is more right of centre than Quebec Liberals. That is a good base from which the Conservatives can expect to build, further.

My prediction of a Charest minority with ADQ in second place proved correct. What shocked me was Mr. Charest nearly not winning his own seat. I didn't see that one coming.

Jean Charest must personally wish he could exit, stage right. But he’s stuck. If he leaves now, it surely puts another nail in the coffin. Besides, who’s the 2IC?

Watch for Mr. Harper and Mr. Dumont to become buds. Watch further for the impact on the BQ. They wont have 51 seats after the next election. But where will those votes go?

Quebec; my quick take...
